Dr. Akan has been providing clinical supervision since 2020, with experience supervising both trainees and qualified practitioners. She holds formal certificates in Clinical Psychology Supervision, completed the North Thames New Supervisors Workshop — a programme jointly organised by UCL, University of East London, and Royal Holloway University of London for supervisors of NHS trainee clinical psychologists. She also has formal training and experience in offering specialist CBT Supervision.
As an HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist and BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist, her supervision can count towards BACP, BABCP, and HCPC accreditation requirements — whether working towards or maintaining accreditation — in line with each organisation's published guidelines.
Dr. Akan supervises research at doctoral and master's level and is open to research supervision enquiries from postgraduate students.
